PURPOSE: Through the story “The Pied Piper of Hamelin”, pupils explore how assertiveness shapes social interactions. They are encouraged to reflect on character decisions—such as the boy who chooses not to follow the piper—and to identify assertiveness in their own lives. Through questions, sentence-completion games and dramatization, pupils practise expressing
opinions, defending decisions, and resolving conflict respectfully. Dramatization, in particular, offers a playful space to try
different roles and practise social skills in a safe environment.
